Technical Helpdesk Support Engineer - CCTV, Access Control

Stockport, Greater Manchester

£24,000 - £26,000 pa (depending on experience) + Benefits

Leading Global Security company requires PC savvy experienced help desk support engineer with a background in working with CCTV, Access Control Systems and Windows PC based Systems to take up this varied role supporting established clients, remotely from their Stockport offices. May suit experienced CCTV/Access Control maintenance person looking for an office based role.

The Role:

To keep up to date with new hardware & software product releases

To work at 1st and 2nd line monitoring key sites and working customers to trouble shoot issues

Assist/investigate and manage legacy site upgrades to current product

Provision of detailed reports with regard to site visits/issues

Aid in the provision of technical support literature in all media forms

Identify possible training requirements of installation/maintenance customers, and encourage the training thereof

Aid in the management of Unresolved/Escalated calls

Undertake site visits for the consultation, investigation or rectification of related technical issues (minor role if more experienced)

To work with field sales at the system specification stage

My client is looking for individuals who can provide proactive and consistently high levels of customer service while demonstrating commercial awareness in regards to the customer support provided

Required skills and experience:

Solid experience in a customer technical support function

Sound knowledge in the intruder/Access service/installation industry is preferred

Ability to work effectively in a team or solo environment

Conscientious with assigned tasks

Confidant regarding sharing ideas regarding development of new and intuitive ideas to the customer base

Excellent problem solving abilities

Applications Knowledge

Access Control / CCTV / Alarms / Modern Windows IT / PC based Systems

Technical Skills

Good fault diagnosis skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Servers etc

IT networks knowledge - Any TCP/IP skills would be ideal!

Candidates with experience of SQL Server Management Studio will be of particular interest

To suit ex security systems installer / engineer who is perhaps looking for less day to day site based travel
