High growth global software solutions house with fortune 500 client base, requires experienced Technical Product Owner with strong Agile experience and decent technical understanding of the MS .Net stack and modern front-end development gained from a more hands on development past. Technical appreciation to enable sensible conversations with developers on the following is preferred: Helping to build enterprise applications that can be: Cloud hosted OR that utilise a service-oriented architecture (SOA) AND/OR provide published API's.
The Role: To lead cross-functional resources for successful product definition. Providing relevant business context for Agile software development teams and then leading teams through planning exercises designed to help select development work for execution.
Day to day you will:
Drive one or more Scrum Teams as the Product Owner
Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements in the forms of Epics, Themes and Stories
Build and maintain a strong practical knowledge of the product and the recommended deployment architecture
Create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or return on investment
Contribute to define the product road-map
Work with the Scrum Masters to deliver value to the business
Providing an active role in mitigating impediments that might otherwise impact successful team completion of Release and Sprint Goals
Representing the customer, interfacing and engaging with the customer
Producing and maintaining technical documentation associated with the product releases
Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
Recent strong experience in a Product Owner / Manager role.
You will be able to provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and will have experience of capturing functional and technical requirements in the form User Stories.
You will have experience of backlog management, iteration planning, and will know how to create and maintain a Product Backlog according to business value.
Good understanding of enterprise software deployment models and technical concepts
Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint etc.
Ability to work closely with the sales teams, consultancy team and internal teams to recognise requirements and identify opportunities to improve the product offering
Familiarity with common technologies inc Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop, MS SQL, SSL, Encryption, Certificates, Active Directory, Virtualization, WCF (High level functional understanding not hands on)
Scrum Product Owner or Scrum Master certification
Experience of working with teams developing cloud-deployed products that utilise service orientated architecture; and that present published API's, is highly sought after.
