C++ Software Architect - VR, AR, Unreal Engine

Birmingham (Remote) - £50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits

Software Architect with strong knowledge of C++ and experience with Unreal Engine / Unity development and tooling sought by a scale up VR / AR product development company in Birmingham.

They are pushing the boundaries of what VR and AR technology can do for a variety of audiences including large enterprises and R&D teams alike. These include full room scale VR and 360 degree video to create the most immersive experiences possible!

The Software Architect will lead from within, acting as a central member of the development team, contributing to writing C++ code as well as leading the innovation of their product suite and mentoring the more junior members of the team. This is a position that will offer you the chance to put your stamp on the solution and bring your creativity to life!

The Software Architect will require the following skills:

  • 3 years experience with C++
  • Experiencing leading or delivering software products
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine
  • Ability to modify and build engine source code (UE4)
  • Knowledge of optimising applications for room scale VR
  • Working knowledge of Perforce and UE4/VS integration and best practices

It would be beneficial if you had experience with:

  • DevOps fundamentals
  • C# for Unity
  • JavaScript
  • Shader skills (glsl/hlsl)
  • ARCore and/or ARKit
  • OpenVR/OpenXR
