Software Sales Business Development Manager
£40,000 - £60,000 + Car + Bens + Great commission plan for earnings of 100K + OTE
Birmingham, West Midlands. To suit a midlands-based candidate close to M6, M5, M42 corridor. Regular UK travel required.
Established international Logistics and Transport Management Systems vendor requires experienced field ready Sales Business Development Manager to spearhead their sales activity entry into the UK Market. The position offers a unique opportunity to sell to the whole of the UK market as first salesperson in the UK. You will be joining a new team working from a newly established sales and services hub in central Birmingham. The company currently has 200 + staff across 5 locations and group turnover in excess of 20M euros per annum.
The product is an established and highly customisable modular logistics and transport planning (TMS) system sold to mid-market and enterprise customers including functions for road, air and sea freight, telematics, company portals and web systems, docking, transport, fleet management, warehousing, and route planning and optimisation.
You will be acquiring potential customers in person, by phone, email and/or via Teams
(Existing customers are typically freight forwarders, shippers and hauliers from industry
To present the software solution online and on site to potential new customers
Provide RFIs, quotes, build a solid pipeline of sales and enter/conclude contract negotiations
Managing existing clients in the designated region (UK wide + Ireland)
Reporting (pipeline, forecast etc) to Sales Director in Germany.
Skills and experience required:
Graduate or graduate calibre in a relevant numerate business or software / systems degree or similar with proven relevant professional sales experience in a similar role.
Strong general IT skills and understanding along with appreciation of modern development environments / dev life cycle / tech stack and of relational databases is required. Previous experience selling anything that sits on an Oracle platform is particularly sought after though by no means essential.
Minimum 3 years sales experience in a similar role with a proven track record of delivering full sales cycle new business acquisition of similar customers.
Ideally you will have sold similar software systems to the UK market previously so any experience selling similar Logistics and Transport Management Systems and to road freight clients is preferred though my client will consider candidates from most alternative software sales background as they are more than prepared to train on the product
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Dedication to the job and excellent sales techniques.
Marketing support will be provided although you must of a new business hunter mentality.
Willingness to travel across the UK. You will require a valid passport as you'll be attending a in depth induction in a wonderful part of central Europe on joining the new UK team, prior to commencing your work.
